For many people, Easter is a time to consider visiting church, sometimes for the first time in years. If you’re considering joining us at North Pointe Church of Christ, it’s normal to have a few questions before you walk through the door.
You may be wondering what the service will be like, what people wear, or whether Easter Sunday feels different from a typical week. Here’s what you can expect if you visit North Pointe on Easter.
A warm and welcoming atmosphere
Easter Sunday is usually one of the most attended Sundays of the year, so the room may feel a little fuller than usual. Even so, our goal remains the same: to create a space where people can worship God together and feel welcomed.
You’ll likely be greeted when you arrive, but there’s no pressure or spotlight on visitors. Many people who come on Easter are guests or returning after some time away, so you won’t be the only one finding your way.
If you’re coming from Sachse, Wylie, or nearby communities, you’ll probably recognize familiar faces and families from the area.
What the worship service is like
Our Easter service will follow the same general structure as a typical Sunday morning gathering. That means the focus will be on worship, prayer, Scripture, and the message of Jesus.
At North Pointe, worship is simple and centered on Scripture. You can expect:
- Congregational singing
- Time spent in prayer
- A message from the Bible
- Communion, remembering the death and resurrection of Jesus
Easter gives us a special opportunity to reflect on the heart of the Christian story: that Jesus rose from the grave and offers new life to the world. While the message may focus on the hope of the resurrection, the service itself will still feel familiar and grounded.
What should I wear?
One of the most common questions people ask before visiting a church is what they should wear. At North Pointe, you’ll see a range. Some people enjoy dressing up for Easter, while others come in casual clothes. Both are completely normal here.
The simple answer is: wear what you’re comfortable in. No one is evaluating outfits, and you won’t stand out for dressing either casually or more formally.
Are there classes or activities for kids?
Yes. Families are an important part of our church community, and children are welcome here.
Depending on the Sunday schedule, Bible classes or children’s activities may be available. Our goal is to provide a safe and encouraging environment where kids can learn about God in ways that make sense for their age.
If you’re visiting with children and have questions, someone near the entrance will be glad to help you find the right place.
Will Easter be very different from a normal Sunday?
In many ways, Easter at North Pointe looks a lot like any other Sunday. That’s intentional.
The resurrection of Jesus is something Christians celebrate every week, not just once a year. Easter simply allows us to focus on that hope in a special way.
The biggest difference you might notice is the sense of joy and reflection as we remember the story of the empty tomb and what it means for our lives today.
