Walking into a church for the first time can feel like a bigger step than we expect. Even for those who have attended church before, visiting a new congregation often raises quiet questions. Will I feel out of place? Will I know what to do? Will my family be comfortable?
If you are considering a visit to North Pointe Church of Christ in Sachse, we want you to know this first: you are not expected to have everything figured out. Many of us remember what it felt like to walk through the doors for the first time, unsure of what to expect and hoping to feel at ease.
Our desire is simple. We want to be a place where people can come as they are, take a breath, and experience worship and community without pressure.
What to expect when you arrive
North Pointe Church of Christ is located along Highway 78 in Sachse, serving families and individuals from Sachse, Wylie, and nearby communities. On Sunday mornings, you will likely see people arriving at a relaxed pace, greeting one another, and settling in for the day. Parking is available on site, and finding your way in is straightforward and low-stress.
Before worship begins, people often gather in the lobby to talk, reconnect, or enjoy a cup of coffee and a donut. Some linger and visit, while others head quietly to their seats. Both are completely normal. If you prefer to slip in quietly, that is perfectly fine. If you have questions, someone nearby will be happy to help.
When the service begins, you are welcome to sit, listen, and observe. You will not be asked to stand up, introduce yourself, or do anything that draws attention to you. Our worship services are calm and unhurried, typically lasting about an hour.
What worship is like at North Pointe
Worship at North Pointe includes congregational singing without instruments, a practice known as a cappella singing. The focus is not on performance, but on voices joined together in praise. Some people sing along. Others listen quietly. Both are welcome.
Throughout the service, you will hear Scripture read aloud, prayers offered, and a sermon rooted in God’s Word and everyday life. Teaching is thoughtful and accessible, designed to foster faith that carries over into the rest of the week. Communion is observed every Sunday as a time to remember Jesus. You are welcome to participate if you wish, or to simply observe. No one will single you out either way.
If you are unsure when to stand or sit, you are not alone. Most people stand during singing and sit during prayer and teaching, but no one will correct you if you follow along differently.
Families, community, and growing together
Families play a vital role in our church life. Children are welcome in worship, and many families attend together each week. During the Bible class hour, children and teens gather in age-appropriate classes where they learn Scripture in ways that meet them where they are. We understand that kids make noise and need grace. Church should be a place where families can grow together, not a place where parents feel stressed about perfection.
If you have never attended a Church of Christ before, you are not alone. Many people who visit are exploring their faith, returning after a time away, or coming from diverse backgrounds. You do not need to know when to sit or stand or what words to say. You are free to listen, reflect, and ask questions when you are ready.
After worship, some people stay to visit, while others head out to family plans or responsibilities. There is no expectation. Over time, many people choose to connect more deeply through shared meals, service opportunities, and time spent together. Relationships grow naturally, not on a schedule.
At North Pointe Church of Christ, our mission is becoming like Christ together, growing in love, faith, and service. We are a multigenerational church family learning to walk with God alongside one another. Faith here is not about having everything perfected. It is about walking together, trusting God, and making room for grace.
If you decide to visit, know that you are welcome exactly as you are. We would be honored to meet you and walk alongside you, wherever you find yourself on the journey.
